The Gemini Company was started by John Weisgerber in 1996. John studied film at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. There he did special effects make up and mixed blood for hundreds of student films for SVA and NYU. In 1994 he graduated and moved to Los Angeles. For four years he worked in the film industry as a special effects technician for David Miller Creations and Altered Images International. He also worked in the field of bone and fossil reproduction for Valley Anatomical Preparations and Bone Clones.

In 1998, John returned to New York. He worked as a freelance prop and puppet fabricator for Brooklyn Model Works, Curious Pictures, DCM Fabrications and The Group Y. It was during this time that he opened his own studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Presently, John and The Gemini Company, Inc. designs and manufactures it's own line of natural and un-natural history models as well as creating custom props and puppets for the film, commercial and advertising industries.
